Get ready for Valentine’s Day

Get ready for Valentine’s Day with a little inspiration from Graphic 45! I’m sharing my two projects that will be featured in the Graphic 45 blog before Valentine’s Day. Check them out!      Get ready for Valentine’s Day My first project is an easy and fast card that could fit any dear and special valentine. It was really fun to make because I did a lot of fussy cutting like I love. If you want to get some tips on fussy cutting you can find them HERE. I also did some layering and used 3D foam tape to give the card dimension. You’ll be surprised how much a little square of foam tape can add to a card.     The second project is a Valentine’s Envelope mini album complete with a step by step tutorial. This mini album has an envelope for each day of the week and an insert in each envelope. The idea is to create …

My Graphic 45 October Projects

My Graphic 45 October Projects are here! This month I surprised myself a little because one of the projects I created is not really my style. The other project is totally up my alley but not so much. Confused? So am I… this was a great month in terms of projects because I managed to step outside my comfort zone and that’s always a good thing!     My Graphic 45 October Projects       The first project we had to do was a pop-up project. Just the project for me right? I love making pop-up projects. I actually think they got the idea to make projects with a pop-up element from one of my DT submission projects: the pop-up book. Anyway, I wanted to create something easy that everyone can do. Sometimes when people hear pop-up they immediately think it’s too complicated for them so I wanted to change that. So I created a pop-up card. Here’s where …

Graphic 45 Fall and Halloween

This month on Graphic 45 Fall and Halloween I have two sneak peeks for you. I had to create two assignments this month one for fall and one for Halloween. Not only did I have a lot of fun creating these projects but I enjoy the fact I have to challenge myself to create fun and unique projects. I have to say that working with papers you love sure makes that so much easier 🙂     Graphic 45 Fall and Halloween The fall project is a project you can create under 60 minutes! Yes, it’s not only fast it’s also affordable and easy to make. I love the fall first the weather is getting colder and I can feel the winter at the end of the tunnel. Second I love those orange and yellow colors. I created a Fall Wreath you can hang on your door or inside the house. The flowers on it will never die. Check out …

Upcycle, Recycle and Reuse

This month our projects at Graphic 45 were all about Upcycle, Recycle and Reuse. We had to take an unwanted item that was on its way to the garbage and give it new life by turning it into something beautiful! You will not believe how many unwanted things get thrown away when we can reuse them. The ideas of the other G45 design team members blew me away. Check out the Graphic 45 blog during the month of July to see all the ideas.      Upcycle, Recycle and Reuse I wanted to be original and do something different. I didn’t want to repeat something I already did or just cover something with paper. I wanted to create something beautiful but useful too. After all the purpose of giving an object a new lease of life is to use it for something right? When we Upcycle, Recycle and Reuse we don’t only reduce our trash but we get to use thing …

The True Story Behind My Graphic 45 DT

The True Story Behind My Graphic 45 DT is something of a fairy tale or a Cinderella tale if you want. It’s still hard for me to believe I’m telling it to you because I can hardly believe it happened. This is a story not of luck but of all the right things happening in the right time and for the right person…me. It’s also a story of determination, a little bit of talent and a lot of Chutzpah (an Idish-Hebrew word which means gall, audacity, nerve.)     The True Story Behind My Graphic 45 DT It all begins in the last CHA show in January. I love going to this show because I get to see lots of friends, see all the new products and create important business connections. I used to take lots of classes but recently, as a teacher myself, I found the classes a little too “copy-paste” for my taste. When I go to a class I …

Welcome to the Graphic 45 Design Team

Ever since I got the message Welcome to the Graphic 45 Design Team I was not only excited because this was a dream come true but also a little scared. Will I measure up? Will my projects will be good enough? I decided not to dwell on these feelings too long and jumped right in to complete my first project. I decided to trust myself and told myself that if I was good enough to make the team I’m good enough to stay on it and create great projects.   The first project we had to make was about ourselves as artists. As a welcome to the Graphic 45 design team project we have to introduce ourselves to everybody. It might sounds fun but when I actually sat down to do the project I realized it wasn’t as easy as I thought. How do you create a visual project that tells a story about you as a designer? Ask yourselves …
