Nesting Boxes with Graphic 45

Hi dear crafty friends! Today I’m sharing my Nesting Boxes with Graphic 45 amazing Fairy Dust paper collection. These boxes are just the perfect fit for this collection and its magical look.     Nesting Boxes with Graphic 45 Do you know what Matryoshka dolls are? These are similar to those dolls that are nested one inside the other. I decided to create Matryoshka boxes. The idea is three boxes in different sizes that fit one inside of the other. Each box fits neatly inside the next and comes decorated with all the fussy cut fairies imagery.         To create this project I used both the 12×12 and 8×8 paper sizes as well as the sticker page. This project is so fun! You can keep the boxes tucked in together or display them apart. . Two important things you need to remember when creating a box that has cards, a mini album, or any other project in …

What’s in My Head Layout with Graphic 45

Hi dear crafty friends! Today I want to share What’s in My Head Layout with Graphic 45 papers I created. I almost never create pages with my own photos but this funky layout has not only a photo of my face but also some really fun embellishments that I added to it.     What’s in My Head Layout with Graphic 45 The theme of this page was something about us. I had to think a lot about how to show all the things that fill my head and I came up with this whimsical way.  First I took a black and white photo of me and cut out my head like an opening lid. I added lots of different pieces on the page to show all the thoughts and ideas that are “poring” out of my head.  Then I cut all the images from different Graphic 45 papers and also added a title with some letter stickers. A creative …

Interactive Extravaganza Mini Album. Graphic 45 DT.

Hi dear crafty friends! Today I’m sharing a new project Interactive Extravaganza Mini Album. Graphic 45 DT. This mini album took a long time to create but it was so worth the effort. It’s full of interactive flaps, pockets and inserts you might think it’s complicated to create but it’s not. You’ll be surprised how easy it is!   Interactive Extravaganza Mini Album. Graphic 45 DT. I started with the Rectangle tag and pocket mini album which is wonderful because it comes with a few interactive surprises. All its pages are full side pocket pages and there are also pockets on the front of some of the pages. So half of the work is already done right? All you need is to cover the pages with papers and you are ready to add photos. However if you’re like me covering the pages with photos might not be enough. You, like me, might want to add even more interactive mechanisms to …

How to create a 3D mixed media project

Hi dear crafty friends! Today I’m answering a question I get asked a lot: How to create a 3D mixed media project. People often ask me how do you get so much dimension on your mixed media projects especially regarding the elements. The basic question is how to give them enough height and create the layers that make the project look 3D. Well… here’s a tutorial to answer this question.     How to create a 3D mixed media project The basic idea is to arrange you elements in layers and give every layer extra height with chipboard pieces. I used to use foam tape which I realized does not hold the weight of these elements especially the metal ones. Plus it’s kind of expensive if you need to use a lot of it. Instead I’m using thick chipboard pieces which I cut from leftover chipboard pieces. I glue the chipboard pieces together and then attach the element to the …

Spooky House from Two Boxes. Graphic 45 DT Project

Hi dear crafty friends! Are you tired of Halloween projects already? If not then I have one more for you: Spooky House from Two Boxes. Graphic 45 DT Project. When you design for Graphic 45 it goes without saying that Halloween is a big thing and you need to come up with a fantastic project. Well… last year I think I did just that!     Spooky House from Two Boxes. Graphic 45 DT Project This spooky house is made from two boxes. The base is made from a Mixed media 5×5 box and the little house on it is made from a ATC book box. The bottom part was easy to make. The box is already black so all I had to do is cover all the sides with the amazing Halloween in Wonderland papers. The house on the top was a little more work. I used the lid of the box as a roof and secured it in …

Hi dear crafty friends! Today I’m back to my old tricks… I’m sharing a One Page Wonder Mini Album Tutorial! You know how I love coming up with these fun things not just because it’s cost effective and easy to create but also because it’s a challenge. I find, at least for me, that challenges spark my creativity!     One Page Wonder Mini Album Tutorial This little mini album was created from only one 12×12 double sided cardstock. You’ll be surprised how far you can go with some smart cutting and folding. This particular mini album has pages as well as a cover so it’ll be perfect as a brag book or even an insert to a larger mini album. You can glue together the covers and create a combo of one page mini albums too!         As for the embellishments the sky is the limit. Don’t put too many embellishments on the inside pages so …
