Combination Easel and Stair Step Card Tutorial with Einat

Hi dear crafty friends! Today I want to share with you a fun Combination Easel and Stair Step Card Tutorial. It’s easy to make and you can use any papers you want but the important thing to notice is not to use bulky embellishments. If you want to put it in an envelope you need to make sure it will fold. So use thin chipboards, cut out images or stickers to embellish the card.     Combination Easel and Stair Step Card Tutorial Start with a 5 1/4″ x 12″ piece of double sided cardstock. I used the Lavender garden papers by Craft & You. I’m not usually a purple fan but I said the same thing about yellow and changed my mind. So I decided to use all the colors of the rainbow even if I think I don’t like it. Usually I love how the project turns out! Score the cardstock at 1 1/4″, 2 1/2″, 4 1/4″, …

The 3 Essentials for a Steampunk Project

Hi dear crafty friends! Today I want to share with you what I think are The 3 Essentials for a Steampunk Project. I get a lot of questions about steampunk especially questions that relate to how to achieve that steampunk look.     The 3 Essentials for a Steampunk Project A steampunk project doesn’t need to have lots of techniques or fancy materials. You could add them if you want but it’s not necessary. There are  only three essentials you really need to achieve that steampunk look: 1. The right color A steampunk look is achieved by using industrial and metallic colors like brown, bronze, gold, black and all their combinations. Other colors that can be used are the colors of rust and oxidization.       2. Theme Focal Point Every project needs a focal point. It can be a photo of a person or an image but the most important thing is that the focal point will be …

Foamiran Flowers Card and Tutorial

Hi dear crafty friends! I want to share with you my Foamiran Flowers Card and Tutorial. This is a card I created as part of my Scrap & Craft design team. Other then beautiful papers and chipboards I used Foamiran to create the flowers on the card.     Foamiran Flowers Card and Tutorial What is foamiran? Foamiran is a stretchy material (foam) 0,8 mm or 0.6 mm thick which looks like paper. It reacts to heat and it is easy to shape when warm. Please note that this is a special kind of foam dedicated to flower making. It’s not ordinary craft foam 2 mm thick Which you can buy in crafts stores with products for kids.     Start by cutting out flowers in two different sizes. You can use any flower die you have in your stash. It will not work with punches but if you don’t have any dies you can trace a flower pattern onto the …

Spring Tags for Scrap and Craft DT

Hi dear crafty friends! I don’t know what’s the weather’s like where you live but here spring is in full swing. Today I want to share with you two Spring Tags for Scrap and Craft DT.     Spring Tags for Scrap and Craft DT Someone asked me awhile back about tags. They asked me what do I do with the tags I make and why do I create them in the first place. Well… for me tags are similar to cards. It’s a small project that I can create in a short time but still feel like I’m creating. Unlike cards, I think tags can be used for many more things. I use my tags as gift tags, add-ons, embellishments for layouts, mini album inserts and as cards too.           I created these tags by first layering papers from the Lemon Craft House of Roses 6×6 paper collection. Then I added a piece of lace, …

Exploding Box with Extras

Hi dear crafty friends! Aren’t exploding boxes great fun?! I love them! Today I want to share my Exploding Box with Extras. It’s not a regular exploding box with empty pages to add photos it’s an upgraded exploding boxes with interactive moving parts inside! I created this project for Scrap & Craft and used Craft O’ Clock papers.     Exploding Box with Extras Exploding boxes are already interactive and fun, especially when you open them and they open to all four directions. I wanted to take my exploding box to the next level and make room for even more photos. So I added an interactive mechanism to each side wall of the box and its center.               In the center I created an accordion mini album that can fit photos on both its sides. On the sides I added flaps and pockets. These interactive mechanisms allow you to add many more photos to …

Cards Set Box. Scrap & Craft DT

Hi dear crafty friends! Today I want to share a quick and easy project: Cards Set Box. Scrap & Craft DT. This is a great project to create as a gift or as a stash of cards made in advance for any occasion you might need.     Cards Set Box. Scrap & Craft DT To create this project I used the wonderful double sided cardstock by Craft & You papers. I also used some chipboard and flowers to embellish the cards and the top of the box. To add a little drama I used 13@rts His & Hers black butterflies and words stickers. They were perfect for this project.       The fun thing about this project is that you can create cards with different papers for different occasions and you can leave the cards empty without any sentiments and only add them when you need to use the card. This way you’ll always match the sentiment to the occasion.  Products …

Hi dear crafty friends! Today I want to share my new Steampunk Altered Box for Scrap & Craft. They have the most amazing steampunk theme laser cut chipboard that are just perfect for steampunk projects.  Steampunk Altered Box for Scrap & Craft     Now that the holidays are over I thought I’d take a break from the Christmas and winter theme projects and do something a little different. As you know I love steampunk! That industrial look with the cogwheels and mechanical parts is just magical to me. Today I want to inspire you with an altered box created in a steampunk style.         I took an old paints cardboard box and painted it with black gesso. Then I added layers of chipboard and metal embellishments. When you create a project like this layering your embellishments with extra height will make the difference between a nice project and an amazing project! You don’t want your creation …
