Mixed Media Art Journal Page – Journey

I have a new art journal that I’m really excited to start! I decided that the pages in the new journal will have a theme. It seem to be more challenging and inspiring this way. The first page is all about the journey…a fitting subject for the first page of a new journal. I started with coloring the background with two shades of blue Gelatos. They mix very well together when you wet them a little and use a baby wipe. I added some texture to the background with dimensional paint and a stencil. I drew a few clouds with a white oil pastel. Then I created the mountain by adding layers of tissue paper. I also added a trail with a brown oil pastel. I cut my image from an old photo and glued it on top of the mountain. I stamped some houses on white cardstock and colored them with Gelatos. I cut them and glued them to …

Pour your heart out…

Art journaling is a great way to pour your heart out. If you’re feeling down or blue just start creating and a big smile will appear on your face. This art journal page is all about letting your spirit, happiness and smile shine through the dark background. I started with creating the background with dark sprays, Gelato and stamps. I added layers of browns and black so the background will be really gloomy.   Then I tore the paper and tucked under the tears flowers I cut from a patterned paper. The flowers seem to burst through the dark cracks. I also added a shine effect with yellow Gelatos to complete the look. I added a white and bright sentence with a white gel pen and doodles swirls and dots around it and in the letters to add to the happy feeling. Make sure to check out the step by step video tutorial to see how I created the art journal …

Memory Time Capsule

As some of you know I lost my grandmother early this week. She was an amazing brave woman who picked up the pieces of her life after the holocaust, built a family and a life. I wanted to create a little something to put on a shelf above my work table so I can be inspired by her and remember her. I got an idea while finishing a masking tape. The empty roll reminded me of a clock and the idea just popped into my head, I’ll create a time capsule. I first covered the roll with patterned paper from all sides and then added an embellished house and felt trees. I wanted to create a scene in time from many years ago so I used an old photo of my grandmother with her twins, my mom and aunt. I added a picket fence and flowers to create a little garden. Then I added a bicycle and some chipboard birds …

Maximize your supplies – moments

This is a DT layout for Susan K. Weckesser that was created for a special collaboration with Want2Scrap. This layout has a few cool techniques you can learn about from this video tutorial. you ever had a paper you wish you didn’t have to create a layout with? What I mean is that creating a layout meant to lose a pattern on it. Well I found a solution…cut out what ever you don’t want to lose and use it! The holes in the paper are covered with other elements or embellishments and this way you get to “eat the cake and leave it whole” at the same time! Another fun technique I used on this layout is double embossing. It’s a great way to create a double color effect with your embossing powders. Have fun creating!Einat

"A word of advice" mini album

Hi crafty friends! Today I’m sharing a project I created as a DT work for Susan Weckesser. My boys always say: “Mom stop worrying so much”, “stop telling us what to do” etc. Well I’m only giving them a piece of advice…right?? So instead of telling it directly to them I created a little mini album with a few advices. I started with this beautiful house I cut from Susan K. Weckesser patterned paper. I used a stencil to create the brick pattern on the house as well as the waves on the roof. I also cut an I shape on the window so I can open it a little. I cut different Susan K.Weckesser patterned papers as pages and used a different stamp on each page. “May the sun shine on you! But only if you let it”. I stamped a the sun on patterned paper, cut it out and adhered it on the page with 3D foam tape. Then I …

Ins(paper)ation: Home of inspiration

DT project {Susan K. Weckesser}One of my favorite Susan weckesser’s stamps is this cute adorable house (LOVE stamp). So I decided to use this stamp and create a project that can be an inspiration for yo all. I started with stamping the house on different Susan Weckesser’s patterned papers and cutting the parts of the house like the window, door or roof. Then I played around with the parts so each house got a different color of window, roof or door. I embellished the houses to fit the sentence I wanted to add. “The house does not rest on the ground it rests on a mother”: I stamped the Motherhood is a verb stamp and cutout the image. I added lace, some cut flowers and the sentence.” Fill a home with love and it will fill your life with color”: I added some colorful buttons on the house’s roof and added the sentence. “Home is where the heart is”: I …
