Scrapbooking Tips: Using Flowers on Boys Layouts

when I started scrapbooking I had a very clear division in my head when it came to what goes with girls layouts and what goes on boys layouts. guess what? I was completely wrong! We are living in an era when borders are very fluid when it comes to what is considered manly or girly. I'm not here to start a philosophical debate but I do think that scrapbooking has adopted this trend.

Adding flowers to boys or masculine layouts is so common today. if you haven't tried it then please do. here are a few tips on how to do it:

1. If you are a traditional person then add only a few flowers together with other embellishments. If you dare add lots of flowers and make them the main embellishment.

2. Use "masculine" colors of flowers and match them to the colors on the photo you're scrapping. This will compliment and combine with the photo and will make the layout look cohesive.

3. Add flowers to "softer" masculine layouts like pages with babies or small kids. That will look less strange to you if you're not used to adding flowers.

I do hope you'll be like me and add as many flowers as you want because it adds beauty and interest to any page!
