Funny

I can’t believe my boy is almost 13 years old. This is a very important age in Judaism; this is the age when we celebrate the Bar Mitzva. This day symbolizes the day when a boy becomes a man. Here’s a layout I made capturing one of the things I love about him…making me laugh! I used a few funny photos of him throughout the years and added a few embellishments to give the layout a whimsy, funny mood. I also misted the paper a little to add a little color. 101 Flower Tutorial #18: Wet Flower

It’s time for another great, easy, fun flower tutorial. This time we’ll play with an easy mixed media technique and we’ll get wet…very appropriate for the summer! 1.       You will need a piece of tissue paper. Spray the paper with water or glimmer mist if you want to add a little color. 2.       When the paper is wet crumple the paper into a circle shape. Leave to dry. 3.       After the flower is dry add a brad, rhinestone or bling in the center. Have fun creating! Einat

Off to school

Today was the first day of school. I can’t believe time flies so quickly and my kids have grown so much. All of this has inspired me to create a layout about the first day of school. I used a Bo Bunny paper that had a door on it and created a scene of my son going “out” the door and off to school. I added handmade books and notebooks as well as layers of papers to emphasize and enhance the school theme. Have a wonderful school year and a lot of fun creating! Einat

Back to school

My kids go back to school in a few days! I always like to make them a card with a few motivating words to start the new school year. They really like it and they keep all the cards in their rooms. This year I made a mini album card, it’s a folding card that is like a small mini album. I used Kaiser Craft paper and embellished it with Echo Park stickers. They were not “school” stickers with the traditional apple or pencil because my boys are too big for that…or at least that’s what they say! So I used things that are related to school like a ruler, globe, clock, numbers and days of the week. These cards will be waiting next to their beds when they wake up on the first day of school. Have a good year guys!! Have fun creating! Einat

You

Mixed media is a wonderful world full of exciting techniques, materials and possibilities. I recently had the pleasure to work with the materials and techniques of a very talented and inspiring artist Anna Dobrowska known as Finnabair. This layout is full of goodies and layers. Some of the materials are familiar like stamps, gesso or flowers. But other materials are unconventional and include treasures Anna brought from flea markets, my own private stash of items and even products from other crafts. It was fun, it was messy and at the end my hands were completely covered with gesso, paint, mists, ink and a lot of it! I had the time of my life!! Have fun creating! Einat

Love the moment

I love making 3D cards. It’s fun, it’s challenging and it always looks fantastic! This time and not typically I made a pink card, imagine that…. I added all kinds of embellishments and inserted them into the valley folds to create more dimension and 3D layers. I used Jillibean Soup Die Cuts and a MME title. Also added a flower and buttons.
