You and Me – Creative Journaling – DCC Blog Hop

What a better way to open the new year then a creative inspiring blog hop with my designer friends from the Designer Craft Connection! This month our theme is journaling. The magic of words, a collection of letters telling a story, a memory, a feeling.  My creation is a layout with a very special photo: a photo of my mom and my aunt when they were little girls. This layout is part of a birthday scrapbook I’m making for my mom’s 60th birthday. It’s going to be a unique scrapbook because all the journaling is going to be  written by different family members. Each layout will have the story from the point of view of the person in the photo. For example: my boys will write the journaling on the layouts showing their photos, with all their feelings, experiences, memories and love for their grandmother. 101 Flowers Tutorial #11: Crochet and Paper combo

Here is another great flower tutorial! This time a combination of two materials I really like: paper and crochet yarn. This flower is a merger of the two materials, and when I say a merger I mean these two materials are connected to each other and can’t be separated, The paper petals are crochet to the flower center and not glued! Here are the instructions: (I initially tried it with fabric but the hole kept tearing so I replaced it with paper).   1.       6 chain stitches and close with a slip stitch. 2.       Row 1: 9 single crochet stitches and close with a slip stitch. The single crochet is not through the chain stitch but around it. 3.       Row 2: double crochet stitch, 2 chain stitched. Close with slip stitch. 4.       Cut 7 petals in two different sizes. Punch a hole on the bottom of each petal. 5.       Row 3: crochet the petals: take one large petal on top …
