Q: What inspires your art work? Is it the products or a combination of things?
A: I can get inspired by reading a book, going on a hike or laughing with my kids. I also get inspired from my moods and feeling…good or bad. I sometimes get a new supply I must try and sometimes I have no inspiration at all so I start doing something and open the door…trust me, inspiration always comes in!

Q: Do you have formal art training?
A: Nope. I'm a self-taught artist!

Q: What do I need to get started art journaling?
A: An art journal, black permanent pen and some kind of paint like acrylic or sprays. You can also take my class: Creating 101: Art Journaling.

Q: How do you choose the colors that go together the best in your work?
A: I love all colors! I rarely plan when I work I just use the colors I want to and if it looks good to me I keep it. There are color combinations according to the color wheel that you can use if you need a starting point.

Q: Can I use your images on my blog?
A: You are welcome to use an image from my blog, as long as you credit me by name, with a link back. If you're at all in doubt about proper usage, feel free to e-mail me.

Q: What kind of paper you use when doing your regular 12 x 12 layouts? I’m having trouble with my paper warping and not being flat. A lot of the techniques seem to be very wet, and your layouts never seem to look warped.
A: For really wet applications I use watercolor paper. Usually when I put my layout in the album the weight of the other pages flatten it out.

Q: How did your hobby became a profession for you?
A: I was introduced to scrapbooking by my grandfather. You can read all about it here. When my oldest son was 4 years old I was working in the Foreign Ministry. When he was diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) I realized I need to make a career change, because the last thing a kid like that needs is big changes every few years. He needs stability which was something I couldn’t give him. I decided to quit my job, but didn’t know what to do instead. To help me process everything I started scrapbooking and then mixed media, art journaling and. Slowly this took over my life and I realized this is where my heart is. I started a business and haven’t regretted it ever since.

Let me know if you have a question that isn't answered here!
