12 FUN FOLD CHRISTMAS CARDS – ONE EASY FOLD, 20 CREATIVE DESIGNS

Inside: how to make 12 fun fold cards for Christmas

It’s that time of year again! My popular 12 Cards of Christmas series is back, and this year I’m doing something a little different.

Every year I share 12 creative Christmas card ideas, each with a step-by-step video tutorial and written instructions to help you make your own handmade Christmas cards. And, as always, the entire series is available for FREE on my YouTube channel!

But this year there’s a special twist.

Instead of using 12 completely different card constructions, all the cards start with the same simple Z fold! Yes, we’re taking one easy card fold and turning it into 12 completely different Christmas card projects.

From gatefold cards and pop-up designs to double folds, vertical cards and horizontal cards, you’ll discover just how many creative possibilities you can get from one simple folding technique.

And there’s even more! The accompanying workbook includes additional variations, bringing the total to 20 different card designs, each with its own video tutorial.

So grab your cardstock, get comfortable and let’s make some Christmas cards!

12 CARDS OF CHRISTMAS – ONE EASY Z FOLD, SO MANY POSSIBILITIES!

If you’ve ever wanted to try making fun fold Christmas cards but thought they might be too complicated, this series is for you.

The basic construction is incredibly simple. Every card starts with the same size cardstock and requires just two score lines to create the basic Z fold.

From there, the possibilities are endless!

I’ll show you how to take that basic fold and transform it into different card designs. Some cards open in unexpected ways, some have interactive elements, and others incorporate additional folds to create completely different looks.

You’ll see gatefold cards, pop-up cards, double-fold designs, easel cards and more.

The fun part is that once you understand the basic Z fold, you’ll start seeing all the different ways you can use it in your own cardmaking projects.

And of course, you don’t have to make all 12 cards. Pick your favorite designs, experiment with different papers and embellishments, or make the entire collection!

WATCH THE 12 FREE CHRISTMAS CARD VIDEO TUTORIALS

All 12 card tutorials are available on my YouTube channel and will be released gradually throughout the series.

Each video takes you through the card-making process step by step, showing you how to score, cut, fold and assemble your card.

Whether you’re an experienced cardmaker or just getting started, you can follow along and create your own versions.

DOWNLOAD YOUR FREE CHRISTMAS CARD WORKBOOK – 20 CARD DESIGNS!

To make this series even more useful, I’ve created a special workbook that you can download for FREE!

The workbook is one PDF file containing a separate page for each card design, with everything you need to recreate the projects.

Inside you’ll find:

  • Detailed measurements for all the cards.
  • Step-by-step written instructions.
  • Additional variations for selected designs.
  • Extra ideas to help you explore different ways of using the basic Z fold.

And here’s something exciting: although the series features 12 main card projects, the workbook includes additional designs and variations.

For example, some projects have two different pop-up versions, while others include three different easel card variations.

That means you actually get 20 different Christmas card designs, with a video tutorial for every single one!

To download the workbook, simply follow the link provided in the description box under the YouTube videos.

You can save the PDF to your computer, print it out and keep it handy while making your cards. It’s a great way to have all the measurements and instructions in one convenient place.

TIPS FOR MAKING YOUR FUN FOLD CHRISTMAS CARDS

Before you start, here are a few tips to help you get the best results from these projects:

  • Start with the workbook. Download the measurements and instructions before making your cards. You can prepare all the cardstock pieces in advance and follow along with the videos.
  • Use a paper trimmer. Accurate measurements and straight cuts make a big difference, especially when working with multiple folds and layers.
  • Score before folding. Use a scoring board or scoring tool to create clean, precise folds. This will help your cards open and close neatly.
  • Burnish your folds. A bone folder is perfect for making crisp folds and keeping your card structures neat.
  • Experiment with papers. Try different Christmas patterns, colors and cardstock combinations. The same card design can look completely different depending on the papers you choose.
  • Make them your own! Add ribbons, flowers, die cuts, stickers, layers and other embellishments to personalize your cards.

And remember, you don’t need to make every card exactly like mine. Use the tutorials as inspiration and let your creativity take over!
