Inside: what is watercolor powder and how to use it on a scrapbooking page   Let’s go back a few years to when you were a kid, do you remember the amazing feeling you had when you discovered something new? It was a blend of magic, wonder and excitement of seeing something for the first time. This is how I felt when I first tried watercolor powder, it was pure magic to me!     WHAT IS WATERCOLOR POWDER   Watercolor powder is basically a watercolor paint product that comes in a powder form. The product can be mixed with water and used in many different ways. Powders can also be mixed with other liquid, gel, paint and paste mediums to customize the colors of those products.   None of the colors are really ‘pure’ colors – there is a blend of several colors within each bottle or pot that creates its own blend when activated to produce a …

Inside: how to make a one page wonder box   I love challenging myself in different ways especially in crafts. So I like to come up with ways of making paper projects with limits. In this case I tried to come up with an idea to make a box from only one piece of 12×12 cardstock. These types of projects are called one page wonder projects and making them is not only fun it’s frugal!     HOW TO MAKE A ONE PAGE WONDER BOX   Coming up with the design for this box took some trial and error but I think the final result is not bad.   Here’s how to make it: Score a 12×12 double sided cardstock at 3″ and 9″ Turn the page quarter of a turn and score at 3″, 5 1/2″, 8 1/2″ and 11″ While the four score lines are horizontal cut out top left and right corners from the edge until …

This technique doesn’t have an official name but it’s commonly known as the texture and art medium based technique.     WHAT IS A MIXED MEDIA CANVAS   When you make a mixed media canvas you basically combine materials and techniques. Unlike painting for example where you paint with acrylic paints or watercolors or scrapbooking where you use paper supplies to document memories. In this type of art you mix different techniques and supplies on the same project. In this specific technique you use these materials and techniques:   FOUND OBJECTS – in order to create the texture on the canvas you attach all kinds of found objects and embellishments. You can use any object you have in your stash but not only. You …

Inside: how to make a tunnel card   I love making cards but I always try to give them an interesting twist. This card looks regular on the outside but inside there is a 3D surprise when you open it!       WHAT IS A TUNNEL CARD   A tunnel card lets you build up dimensional scenes on your paper craft projects, and it works really well to create fun-filled scenes. You can also make a tunnel card like I did with no scene just the tunnel to make the wow factor.   OTHER TUNNEL PAPER CRAFTS   Making this type of 3D effect is not limited to cards only. Here are some tunnel paper crafts ou can make: Steampunk tunnel book Tunnel frame   HOW TO MAKE A DIY TUNNEL CARD   STEP 1   Start with cutting two 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ double sided cardstock.
