Inside: how to make a Christmas advent calendar to countdown the days until Christmas!   Since I was a kid whenever I had an important event coming up I always made a table with the number of days I had to wait and I crossed off each day counting down the days remaining. An Advent calendar is a special calendar used to count the days of Advent in anticipation of Christmas. Since the date of …

Almost a man

I don’t know how it happened but I have a 13 year old boy. How did it happen so fast? It seems I only looked away for a minute and time flew by so quickly. I look at him now and he’s almost a man… This is a DT layout for My Punch’s Kit of the Month Club. The layout has two visible photos and a few more photos hidden in the little book. Just like my son said to me: “Mom, Some of my thoughts are private, this is how a teenage boy is!” that sentence inspired me to create a book with thoughts and photos that would only reveal its secrets when opened. Have fun creating! Einat

You know I love creating project from only one sheet of paper! Here is another fun and easy tutorial for The Robin’s Nest DT. You can visit The Robin’s Nest blog and website 1.       Fold a double sided cardstock in four. Open all folds. 2.       Start working on the upper right square. Cut the cardstock on the vertical fold line from the edge to the center. Interactive Design Tutorial – Forest soccer

This layout has a really fun technique to it…a turning flap! The theme of the layout is soccer and I wanted to add something interactive to it to compliment the theme. Since we are talking about soccer I thought why not add a turning round flap that hides and reveals a hidden photo? This is really easy to make. 1.       Cut a circle from cardstock. Make sure that the diameter of the circle equals the combined height of two photos. For example if you use two 4″ by 6″ photos the diameter of the circle has to be 8″. 2.       Cut the circle in half. 3.       Adhere the two photos to your layout one above of the other. 4.       Attach the circle to the layout with a brad. The point of attachment should be between the two photos in the center. The brad will allow it to turn and you can reveal and hide the photos. This is another DT …

Interactive flap Tutorial

Today I’m sharing a fun easy tutorial on how to add interest, surprise and a lot of fun to your layouts on Scrapping Everyday Miracles. Interactive design in scrapbooking is when you add something that moves to your layout. If it has to be opened, pulled, turned or pushed, it’s interactive! Today I’ll show you how to add a flap to your layout. 1. To create the flap you’ll need one 4″ by 6″ photo and two smaller photos. The flap is great for creating more space on your layout there by enabling you to add more photos as well as hiding photos which are not so perfect but you still want to use. 2. Take a 4″ by 12″ piece of double sided cardstock and fold in half. 3. Adhere the flap to your layout by putting glue only on the bottom part of the flap. 4. Adhere the large photo on the outside flap. 5. Adhere the two smaller photos …

You and Me – Creative Journaling – DCC Blog Hop

What a better way to open the new year then a creative inspiring blog hop with my designer friends from the Designer Craft Connection! This month our theme is journaling. The magic of words, a collection of letters telling a story, a memory, a feeling. My creation is a layout with a very special photo: a photo of my mom and my aunt when they were little girls. This layout is part of a birthday scrapbook I’m making for my mom’s 60th birthday. It’s going to be a unique scrapbook because all the journaling is going to be  written by different family members. Each layout will have the story from the point of view of the person in the photo. For example: my boys will write the journaling on the layouts showing their photos, with all their feelings, experiences, memories and love for their grandmother. The journaling on this layout is going to be written by my aunt, her sister. The layout has a …
