My Top 3: Adhesives

Hi dear crafty friends! I get a lot of questions about the glues i use so today i want to share with you My Top 3: Adhesives. These are my favorite glues to use on my projects but it doesn’t mean they are the best and you can use any glue you have in your stash.     My Top 3: Adhesives Tacky Glue Tacky glue is an all purpose glue that can be used for a lot of applications. It has been around for more than 50 years! It is a white liquid glue that dries clear and is strong enough to hold paper, fabric and wood. I especially like the bottle that stands on its head so I don’t need to wait for the glue to come out of the bottle.     Double Sided tape This dry glue is great to use on paper crafts. My favorite brand is Score tape which is very strong on one …

Dream Mixed Media Layout – 13 arts Guest Designer

Hi dear crafty friends! Today I’m so honored and excited to announce that I was invited to be a guest designer at 13arts for three months! I just love their products! So today I want to share my first project created with their amazing stuff: Dream Mixed Media Layout – 13 arts Guest Designer     Dream Mixed Media Layout – 13 arts Guest Designer For my first project I created a mixed media layout with lots of cool techniques. This is my first layout that I created in a long time and it was fun to come back to it. I didn’t have a photo that fit so I “created” a photo with an image of a child and a frame. The first step was to add some color to the background. I used a little watercolor powder with water. I put a little powder on a plastic wrap and spritzed it with water. The watercolor powder is like dried …

Interactive Art Journal Page

Hi dear crafty friends! usually an art journal page is a spread of two papers or even just one paper. But today I want to share with you an Interactive Art Journal Page which is basically four pages or two spreads! As you can see there is a large spread and in the center of it a smaller page with both sides designed.         Interactive Art Journal Page The secret to this page is to create two different sizes of pages so the smaller page will be in the front while the large spread is in the back. They are both visible because the smaller spread doesn’t cover the spread underneath. To create this Interactive Art Journal Page I worked simultaneously on all sides and when the background was finished I cut the top spread into size. This created the little spread in the center. Then I could add details to the different sides of the pages.   …

Foamiran Flowers Card and Tutorial

Hi dear crafty friends! I want to share with you my Foamiran Flowers Card and Tutorial. This is a card I created as part of my Scrap & Craft design team. Other then beautiful papers and chipboards I used Foamiran to create the flowers on the card.     Foamiran Flowers Card and Tutorial What is foamiran? Foamiran is a stretchy material (foam) 0,8 mm or 0.6 mm thick which looks like paper. It reacts to heat and it is easy to shape when warm. Please note that this is a special kind of foam dedicated to flower making. It’s not ordinary craft foam 2 mm thick Which you can buy in crafts stores with products for kids.     Start by cutting out flowers in two different sizes. You can use any flower die you have in your stash. It will not work with punches but if you don’t have any dies you can trace a flower pattern onto the …

Mixed media Canvas with a photo

Hi dear crafty friends! Today I want to share with you my Mixed media Canvas with a photo. I get a lot of questions about how to combine mixed media design with a photo. It can be combined on a layout, a mini album and today I’ll show you how to do it on a canvas.     Mixed media Canvas with a photo For this canvas I used a photo of me and my sister from when we were little girls. I developed the photo in black and white so it will not clash with the colors on the canvas. My sister always tells me that this is her favorite photo of the two of us.           The next step was to pick all my embellishments. The point of this project is to use objects with volume so you’ll be able to create the texture and later the color effects. If you use flat embellishments …

One Page Wonder Interactive Mini Album

Hi dear crafty friends! Today I want to share my farewell project for the Graphic 45 design team: One Page Wonder Interactive Mini Album. I had a lot of fun creating it and before you ask for a tutorial I promise to make one for you.     One Page Wonder Interactive Mini Album As a final project, I wanted to create something that is really me. This project is me in all sorts of ways. First, it’s a one-page wonder project which you know I love. It features one of my all-time favorite collection: Steampunk Debutante. It has an interactive mechanism in it and it utilizes a lot of leftovers, which is something I always challenge myself to do.           The mini album was created from one 12×12 black cardstock. I then covered its pages with the pattern paper and added the flaps and pockets. The binding is a really simple binding with a ribbon. It was hard to capture all the details in this mini …
