Treasure Mini Book

Hi dear crafty friends! Us crafters are a strange bunch… we can’t throw anything right? We see a creative potential in almost any paper piece or little trinket. Slowly we accumulate lots of these little leftovers and embellishments and they sit patiently somewhere and wait for us to do something with them. Today I want to share my Treasure Mini Book that was created with some of my little treasures!     Treasure Mini Book For this project O took out one of my treasure boxes that is filled with little metal junk and leftover pieces I collected over time. I also took some non metal little pieces that were hiding in another box. I took pieces of fabric and cut them in half. Then bound with paper strips folded in half. Each side of the strip was glued to a different fabric.         The fun part was creating the pages. I wanted each page to have a …

Never Stop Creating Art Journal Page

Hi dear crafty friends! I haven’t created an art journal page in a while. I finally got the time to create a page so today I’m sharing my: Never Stop Creating Art Journal Page. It’s colorful and only made with water colors and Posca pens.     Never Stop Creating Art Journal Page Sometimes I have a specific idea for an art journal page but sometimes I just feel like I need to create something but I have no specific idea in mind. This was the case with this page.        So I simply filled the page with blocks of colors with my wet brush and water colors and then started doodling. I started with a black and white Posca pens. Then I added some more colors. I didn’t have a direction so I just doodled shapes and patterns and went from there. The more the page got its shape the more I knew what I wanted to …

One Page Box with Fussy Cut Embellishments

Hi dear crafty friends! You know how i love creating projects from only one sheet of paper. So today I’m sharing my new project: One Page Box with Fussy Cut Embellishments. It’s so easy to make you’ll be amazed!     One Page Box with Fussy Cut Embellishments For this project, I used the amazing Nature Sketchbook collection. It has so many beautiful images that I could cut out and use as embellishments on my little box. I layered the images and added chipboard underneath some of them to add extra dimension.       If you don’t have Nature Sketchbook papers don’t worry, because this project will be great with any papers you have. As long as you have images to fussy cut, you can create this box with any paper collection! When fussy cutting, use sharp scissors. Instead of turning the scissors while you cut, turn the paper. That’ll make the cutting faster and more accurate. It would be …

12 Things You Didn’t Know About Passover

Hi dear crafty friends! Today Jews around the world celebrate Passover, which is one of the most important holidays for Jews. For those who aren’t Jews Passover is that time once a year when their friends can’t eat pizza. But there is actually more to this holiday than what Jews can or can’t eat. This holiday is all about celebrating freedom, miracles and faith. Today I want to share 12 Things You Didn’t Know About Passover!     Here is the story of Passover in a nutshell: After decades of slavery to the Egyptian pharaohs, God saw the Jews’ distress and sent Moses to Pharaoh with a message: “Send forth my people.” But despite numerous warnings, Pharaoh refused to heed God’s command. God then sent upon Egypt ten devastating plagues, afflicting them and destroying everything from their livestock to their crops. At the stroke of midnight of 15 Nissan (The Hebrew month coinciding with April) in the year 1313 BCE, God visited …

Z Fold Card with Studio 75

Hi dear crafty friends!  Today I want to share with you a Z Fold Card with Studio 75 new paper collection: Cherry Blossom. I don’t make cards very often but when I do I like to add something extra to them. This time the card opens a little different which makes it much more interesting!     Z Fold Card with Studio 75 Creating a Z fold card is really easy. I created a horizontal card but you can easily make it vertical. The principal is to fold the cardstock in half and then fold one of the sides in half again. Fold the cardstock in an accordion shape to create the Z.       Here’s how to make this card: Take a 4″ x 12″ piece of double sided cardstock and fold it in half. Then fold the left 6″ x 4″ rectangle on the 2″ from the edge and fold in the opposite direction. The Z on …

Mini Album Tips: Using Scraps!

Hi dear crafty friends! Every month I post about a scrapbooking tip to make your layouts look better. This series is such a success I decided to also share my tips about mini albums. Especially with all the questions I’m getting about the mini albums I create! So I’m proud to present Mini Album Tips: Using Scraps!       Mini Album Tips: Using Scraps! Since mini albums are small in size they are the best opportunity to use your scraps! Every once in a while I like to collect a few scraps of papers and use them as pages in a mini album. The secret is to decide what is the size of the largest page, for example 6″ x 6″ and have all the scraps in that size and smaller.         Once you pick all the pieces bind them together with rings or a binding machine and start adding embellishments, photos and journaling! You can find …
