Get ready for Valentine’s Day

Get ready for Valentine’s Day with a little inspiration from Graphic 45! I’m sharing my two projects that will be featured in the Graphic 45 blog before Valentine’s Day. Check them out!      Get ready for Valentine’s Day My first project is an easy and fast card that could fit any dear and special valentine. It was really fun to make because I did a lot of fussy cutting like I love. If you want to get some tips on fussy cutting you can find them HERE. I also did some layering and used 3D foam tape to give the card dimension. You’ll be surprised how much a little square of foam tape can add to a card.     The second project is a Valentine’s Envelope mini album complete with a step by step tutorial. This mini album has an envelope for each day of the week and an insert in each envelope. The idea is to create …

5 Mistakes You Should Make When Creating

This post title: 5 Mistakes You Should Make When Creating is confusing a little right? Nobody likes to make mistakes or fail. We all like our projects to be perfect and if they don’t come out like we envisioned them we usually throw them away, at least I do. BUT if we don’t practice failing and feel comfortable with failure, we can’t really move forward in your creativity. If we don’t learn to take and embrace risks, we may never discover something truly special. So today I wanted to talk about 5 mistakes you should make when creating in order to discover or make something creatively unique.     5 Mistakes You Should Make When Creating Mistake #1: Break the fundamental rules of design. When you first start creating, you spend a lot of time learning how to make your projects look well-designed. You learn all the rules of design including proportion, scale, and balance. Once you’ve become familiar with these rules, you …

Art Journal Page with Two Color Background

Today I’m sharing an Art Journal Page with Two Color Background. This is a simple technique yet I really like the effect it gives. The two color background is the perfect background for journaling or pages with half and half themes.      Art Journal Page with Two Color Background My page is basically a reflection of day and night or if you want the two parts of any person’s soul. It has a bright side and a dark side. I first started with applying acrylic paints in two colors: blue and black. The best way to do that is to use an old credit card to spread the paints on the page without even reaching the edges.     The next step was to add a little stamping to the background making sure it’s in the same colors as the paints. I added a yellow bright sun with yellow acrylic paint. Then I added a tree which I drew …

From projects that I’m really proud of like the Foam-binations stamps projects to projects I really love their simplicity like the folded pocket page. As you could see I picked a few mini albums too because I really love making them and I love how they look complicated on one hand and how easy it is …

How to Art Journal with Stamps?

I love using stamps in my art journal pages. I use them for backgrounds, accents and even focal points. So today I’m sharing my tips for How to Art Journal with Stamps? It doesn’t matter what stamps you have they can all be used in your art journal.     How to Art Journal with Stamps? First I started with the background. I wanted it to be as colorful as possible so I used different types of stencils with different colors of acrylic paints. I tried to use small pattern stencils so the pattern will be visible later when I’ll cover the page with paint.     The next step was to draw the drops shapes and paint around them with acrylic paints. This is the point when you need to decide the theme of your page. I wanted to do a page about rain so I drew the rain drops and they were the only part of the background …
